Volksbühne im Großen Hirschgraben

Curtain up on everyday madness! In her new show, “Ochsenmaulsalat,” Aschaffenburg-based author, columnist, and stage artist Susanne Hasenstab once again showcases the hair-raising humor inherent in our everyday chatter. Together with her longtime stage partner Emil Emaille, she explores communication dead ends and transforms conversations between spouses, acquaintances, and strangers in a café, at the breakfast table, or at the bus stop into absurdly funny mini-dramas.

Following “Morgen ist Gelber Sack!”, “Warum ist die Katze so dick?” and “Alltagsdramen,” this is the duo’s fourth full-length show. This time, the show revolves around slippers, cough drops, and robot vacuums; Mechthild’s cats and seniors during Advent; and a fateful discovery of red strings in the washing machine. In addition, Susanne Hasenstab and Emil Emaille take the audience to a mysterious tavern in the Spessart, where late at night on “Tatartag,” the boundaries between human and animal communication begin to blur.
