Theater am Park

Original? Copy? Truth? Fake? If you no longer know what’s going on here—let alone who’s behind it—then you’re right in the middle of the new show “Ich hab mir gerade noch gefehlt” by Daniel Helfrich, the master of sophisticated nonsense. With uncanny realism, he parodies himself and even gives the visual impression of being Daniel Helfrich. Sounds weird? It is! Daniel Helfrich must have had a clone for breakfast.

In a clever game of mistaken identity, Daniel Helfrich presents largely previously unreleased gems from the body of work of Daniel Helfrich: songs about horse-loving women, impatience, soccer experts, artificial intelligence, and “know-it-alls.” A witty, socially critical piano cabaret about identity, the search for oneself, and the big questions of our time: Do we sometimes get in our own way too much? Is the copy better than the original, and aren’t we all a little bit like Daniel?

Accompanying himself virtuosically on the piano, “Everybodys Daniel” explores a wide variety of musical styles in this funniest and one-of-a-kind pseudo-tribute show in the world. In a hilarious and entirely tongue-in-cheek manner, he not only pokes fun at impersonators, tribute shows, and all of our lives, but above all proves that he can do one thing: laugh at himself. Cheers, doubles, merriment, and a sophisticated, whimsical homage to the “self” in each of us… A musically rousing mix of hits with a double guarantee of laughter, where everyone will realize: “That’s exactly what I needed.”
