Benedict Hegemann

Host Benedict Hegemann welcomes the audience to the Comedy Slam Frankfurt at the Montez Family Art Association. Between high culture and underground raves, there’s only one thing that unites everyone in the Rhine-Main region: laughter. And just as laughter gets stuck in our throats because the frog jumps in again, this time it’s not just the naysayers who are sounding the alarm. Shielded from the world’s crises, humor is the motto that endures. In Frankfurt am Main, people pick their noses; at the Kunstverein der Familie Montez, punchlines are delivered. The disarming is verbal—whether with a jumping period or a bouncing comma, every punchline hits the mark on stage.
A lineup of stand-up artists and slam comedians has been invited—the best of their kind, traveling from all over Germany just for this event. With a time limit of 8 minutes, they compete against one another, and it’s up to the audience to decide who makes it to the finals and ultimately wins.
