Brotfabrik Kulturprojekt 21 e.V.

The Ho Chi Minh City-based band Saigon Soul Revival (SSR) has been bringing pre-1975 alternative music from Saigon back to the stage since 2016. Through their electrifying live performances, the band pays tribute to the original composers and singers of the golden era of “Nhac Vàng” while also presenting new compositions and interpretations of classic Vietnamese songs.

With tight grooves, psychedelic textures, and a powerful, distinctive sound, SSR has played countless shows throughout Vietnam, including at major events such as the Quest Festival, Vibe Nation, and the Mui Ne Music & Art Festival. In 2017, the band participated in the nationally renowned TV show “Ban Nhac Viet” (known internationally as “The Band”) and performed live during the release tours for the “Saigon Supersound Compilation” series in Vietnam. Since 2023, SSR has expanded internationally, performing in the UK and Australia at WOMAD; in Germany at the Song o Berlin Festival and the Festival of Cultures; in France at the Trans Musicales; in Portugal at the Festival Músicas do Mundo; as well as in China and other countries.
