With his new live show “Top Lusche de Luxe,” Holger Müller—aka Ausbilder Schmidt—naturally tackles current topics as well. Is conscription coming back? Is the drill sergeant happy about it? No, of course not—especially not with the personnel he has on hand. He’s afraid of questions like, “Sir, I can’t get this fish can open…!” “That’s not a fish can—it’s a hand grenade, you idiot!” Yeah, yeah—who would’ve thought that old geezer would be needed again! Current events are just side notes for him. The drill sergeant takes the audience along on his daily life. What actually happens when such an incredibly tough drill sergeant has to go to the dentist? It’s just too bad if the dentist is even meaner than the drill sergeant himself… a self-proclaimed potentate and, above all, a character who has rightly achieved cult status.

And that’s what this comedian does best: making his audience laugh for two hours. Just switch off for a while and have some fun. Treat yourself! He’s Ausbilder Schmidt—the nation’s natural-born scoundrel. With biting wit and merciless strictness, he riles up his audience until they’re roaring and giggling with laughter. Ausbilder Schmidt is the drill sergeant of the comedy scene. That’s how people know him—that’s how they want him. Ausbilder Schmidt is a personified satire of all know-it-alls and self-proclaimed bigwigs—and above all, a character who has rightly achieved cult status.
