It’s no secret that good musicians don’t need instruments. A cappella is more popular than ever, and the human voice is truly the star of the show. This year, we’re once again celebrating the genre with four bands: NOICE, Lylac, YeoMen, and Pitch Pipe Project.

NOICE—a very young, promising a cappella newcomer band from Heidelberg that’s bringing a breath of fresh air to the vocal scene. Emerging from a student choir, they combine their musical expertise into an ensemble that unites professionalism, creativity, and an authentic, lively stage presence.
Ensemble Lylac – five voices, countless sonic worlds, an unmistakable sound: The award-winning Ensemble Lylac presents a mix of original compositions and specially arranged jazz and pop classics. New and familiar pieces fuse into an exciting program.
YeoMen – five Berliners armed with flashing glasses and soap bubbles who have been venturing out into the world for what feels like 100 years to promote their own musical genre, “Extreme A Cappella.” Their shows are cult classics, full of glowing LEDs, soap bubbles, and dancing dinosaurs. A little different, a little crazy, but always full of energy.
The Pitch Pipe Project—PPP for short—stands for German-language a cappella singing with a twist all its own. The Berlin-based group’s repertoire ranges from humorous to satirical and absurd, from subtle to thought-provoking. Everything is original: lyrics, compositions, and arrangements. With their unique blend of musicality, wit, and everyday philosophy, the four singers captivate their audience.
