It Was the Lark – Comedy at Theater t-raum, Offenbach – 2-for-1 Tickets
The small Theater im t-raum is staging the comedy *It Was the Lark* by Ephraim Kishon, a wonderfully intelligent comedy exploring the universal human theme of “love.”

What on earth is going on with Romeo and Juliet? Somehow they managed to survive their suicide after all; they’ve now been married for almost 30 years and are struggling with their teenage daughter Lucretia. And so the world-famous star-crossed lovers of world literature—role models for dozens of generations of romantic dreamers—now find themselves in a deep crisis: Romeo loves only himself, Rettich, and Lisa, while Juliet is annoyed by her husband, her daughter, and an unexpected visitor. The poet Shakespeare himself rises from the grave, appears on stage—prompted by the bitter quarrel between his creations—and closes in on the uninhibitedly drooling couple. Little daughter Lucretia finds the Englishman in Verona somewhat sexy, and Juliet’s scheming attempts—as well as Romeo’s efforts to exploit his old alliances—cause more confusion and merriment than they do actual points in favor of either of the two marital rivals. What was once romantic love talk between lovers turns into a wild battle between spouses: “It was the lark!”
