Nicole Johänntgen’s music is refreshing, simple, and played with sincerity—groovy and rumbling—inspired by New Orleans jazz. The saxophonist’s new compositions invite you to sing along, dance along, and simply join in. But if you listen closely, you’ll also discover the profound, heart-wrenching side of Henry—the side that lies dormant within all of us. In songs like “Dig Deep” or “Guetnachtlied,” there’s plenty of space between the individual melodies, allowing you to drift into a dreamlike state.
