"Spread Love For Great Music" isn’t just the self-proclaimed motto of the boutique and music lovers’ festival "Golden Leaves Festival" in Darmstadt, but also an internalized guiding principle that has been bringing together handpicked newcomers and established stars of the indie scene for 13 years now. In doing so, the Golden Leaves Festival not only celebrates the carefully curated performances on its stages but also continuously creates new points of connection and layers of experience between artists and the audience. Every visitor, musician, and volunteer is an essential part of the festival—an emotional experience designed to highlight the value of culture within our society and a goal that keeps the festival in a state of constant evolution. However, it makes no attempt to deny its DIY roots, for even today, Golden Leaves would not be possible without volunteer commitment, its volunteers, and selfless supporters. Their tireless dedication is evident not only in the lovingly designed grounds of the Steinbrücker Teich but also in every single encounter on the grounds. For one weekend, everything comes together here. Food (including vegetarian and vegan options) and drinks are offered on-site at fair prices.

The idea behind the Golden Leaves Festival is based on the work of Live at Bedroomdisco e.V., which has been designing and implementing sociocultural event concepts in off-site locations since 2012. The goal is to foster a family-like atmosphere with attendees, one that—in addition to sustainability and diversity—seeks to offer a regenerative alternative to the megalomania of huge, mainstream festivals.
