Romanfabrik e.V.

On the tenth anniversary of Leonard Cohen’s death, Julia van Embers, Jonathan Binhack, and Jonas Noack engage in a creative dialogue with his work and life, giving the great poet a voice in diverse and surprising ways. The three solo artists and songwriters are united by the pull that Cohen’s work exerts on them.

The evening centers on Leonard Cohen’s songs, presented in an intimate atmosphere, focusing on vocals and guitars, with double bass, mandolin, and the occasional other accompanying instrument. The audience can expect a wide selection spanning from his first to his last album, ranging from his most popular songs (such as “Suzanne” or “Hallelujah”) to lesser-known but equally impressive tracks (such as “Going Home” or “I’m Leaving the Table”). The songs are woven into a program featuring Cohen’s poems, biographical excerpts, interview clips, short anecdotes, and other surprises.
