Theater am Park

Weed, Coffee & Kajal, or Why We’re All Orientals—a cabaret and comedy evening with Kerim Pamuk about globalization, cultural exchange, and the curious consequences of isolation. With plenty of humor, the show explores the influences of other cultures on Europe—from coffee and sofas to pepper and the word “smoking weed.” Pamuk explains why Europe was long considered Asia’s backyard, how culinary and linguistic influences have shaped our culture, and why “Alles gut!” (“Everything’s fine!”) has become a go-to phrase against any kind of hysteria. An entertaining evening exploring cultural interconnections, linguistic wit, and surprising connections.
