It’s hard to imagine a chamber music combination with a more beautiful sound than a trio of flute, viola, and harp. Clara Andrada de la Calle, Liisa Randalu, and Anne-Sophie Bertrand—three outstanding soloists from the hr Symphony Orchestra—take up their instruments to present a program spanning the late Renaissance, Impressionism, and tango.

In addition to rarities such as André Jolivet’s “Petite Suite” and Britten’s Harp Suite, the program features popular works like John Dowland’s “Lachrimae Pavane,” Debussy’s enchanting “Syrinx” for solo flute, and Astor Piazzolla’s “Histoire du Tango.” In this piece, the great Argentine composer traces the evolution of the tango from the “brothel (1900)” through the “café (1930)” and the “nightclub (1960)” to the “Concert d’aujourd’hui.” A concert for lovers of rich-sounding chamber music and extraordinary repertoire combinations.
