Sometimes in the morning, the sky comes crashing down without warning. The woman hasn’t slept enough—or has slept too much—and just keeps talking. You’re buried under an avalanche of words before you’ve even taken your first sip of coffee. What’s terrible is the speed—the words, the people, the tractors, the news, and the disasters all race by.

Egers is slow. He chops onions slowly, thinks slowly, and doesn’t speak particularly fast. He wrote the new show with this same slowness—letter by letter, word by word, sentence by sentence. With sluggish force, the cabaret artist resists the world’s speed. An evening that celebrates slowness—until Egers gets carried away by everything and nothing.
