In addition to a huge selection of play and activity stations—such as games of skill, a bounce house, a rolling slide, bouncy cushions, climbing areas, and much more—there are also great hands-on and creative activities, you can get your face painted, paint at easels, spray-paint T-shirts, do crafts, and much more. Starting at 2:30 p.m., there will be a colorful stage program for the children. The magic clown Eugenio promises lots of fun with juggling, acrobatics, and interactive magic tricks, wonder, and laughter, and the TriTra Puppet Theater will transport the children into the magical world of puppetry. There will also be a dance performance by the youth guard of the Frankfurt Carnival Society Narrhalla1948 e.V. Food and drinks will also be available. Attendance at the World Children’s Day Festival is, of course, free of charge. However, a participation fee must be paid by those who actively take part in a game activity.

In 1954, the United Nations resolved to call on all member states to establish a “Children’s Day” to raise public awareness of children’s rights within their countries. The Federal Republic of Germany decided to set this day on September 20 (in the former GDR, it was June 6). Is such a day still relevant today? Do we still need to advocate for children’s rights today? The organizers of the Riederwald Adventure Playground say: YES! In many countries around the world, children cannot grow up in a way that is appropriate for their age; indeed, they are even deprived of their childhood. That is why the Riederwald Adventure Playground Association (Abenteuerspielplatz Riederwald e. V.) successfully advocated for the inclusion of the “right to play” in Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
