Opera Classica

Under the theme “A Musical Journey to Italy,” an Italian opera night will take place in the courtyard of Heusenstamm Castle. The most famous operas come from Italy, and many other operas are also written in Italian. Whether it’s Verdi’s “La Traviata,” Puccini’s “Tosca,” or Rossini’s “Barbiere di Siviglia”—Italy is commonly referred to as the birthplace of opera and is, of course, also the home of “bel canto,” or “beautiful singing.” In probably no other country in the world do opera lovers encounter such a wealth of timelessly beautiful melodies associated with so many famous names. The music of Gioacchino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, and Giacomo Puccini offers insights into the Italian way of life with all its emotions and thus holds great fascination for opera lovers.

The Virtuosi Brunenses orchestra, conducted by Professor Hans Friedrich Härle, and international vocal soloists such as the Mexican tenor Marco Antonio Rivera will enchant the audience with their exclusive performance of the most beautiful opera arias against the historic backdrop of the castle. Another highlight will be a solo performance by the young violinist Mi-Helen Horn. She made her debut at the age of six at the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden and has won numerous awards in national and international competitions. She is considered an exceptional rising talent of her generation with international prospects.
