Since 1982, the festival of the same name had been held annually at the foot of the Goethe Tower—until the disaster struck, when the Goethe Tower fell victim to arson on an October night in 2017... After a large majority of Frankfurt’s citizens voted in favor of rebuilding it, the new Goetheturm has been open to the public again since 2021.

That’s why the tower is once again hosting the Goetheturm Festival this year: Following the Queens’ Gathering and the presentation of the new Sachsenhausen Fountain Queen on Friday, the Spiridon Goethe Tower Run will take place, and the cover band “Fishbone Trash” will kick off the festival with rock, blues, and pop classics.

On Saturday, the official opening will follow, featuring the tapping of the first keg by City Councilwoman Tina Zapf-Rodriguez and the sale of the new festival mug. There will be live music from the TG Bad Soden marching band and the Sachsenhausen hunting horn players, as well as “WinWets Partyrock” continuing into the evening hours. The police will be on site conducting a bicycle registration campaign. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers from Sachsenhausen’s community organizations, there will be plenty of food and drink available.

Sunday begins with the traditional family church service, followed by a performance by the Stierstadt Wind Orchestra. A new highlight this year is the Schlager afternoon featuring the party band “Schlagerzeit.”

At the Sachsenhausen Association Ring’s booth, the festival mug—featuring a different design each year—will be on sale, and CITY CARD holders will receive a free drink of their choice.
