Open-air yet covered—this year’s “Concert Summer” at the Hanau Amphitheater will once again feature many stars delivering lively concerts:

Helge Schneider, the wig-wearing musician from the Ruhr region, is trumpeting his way—with his unmistakable chatter—into the next decade! In a zany reimagining of a sort of miniature orchestra, he continues to rattle his audience to the very core. One moment he’s pounding the drum; the next, he’s blasting a hodgepodge of notes from his saxophone, which he skillfully keeps hidden until it’s his turn. Piano on the left, trumpet on the right, left foot keeping the beat, and right foot thumping away on the big bass drum. It’s a joy to watch him struggle! But it’s worth it! Absolutely! Leo plucks the four strings of his double bass, and Sandro chops up budding thoughts with his ultra-slim, sharp-sounding old Gibson acoustic guitar! A euphoria of total nonsense takes hold when Helge spontaneously ends the concert right in the middle, only to start right back up again.

If you want to hold onto a little bit of humor in these crappy times, Klimperhelge’s tour is just the thing for you. But watch out! Elbows off the table!
