Enough waiting - Comedy at Theater t-Raum, Offenbach - 2for1-Tickets
In the small living room theater in the t-room, sophisticated comedies, social satires and cabaret, literary adaptations, staged readings of classics and more are performed:
Widower Robert and the much younger Lucy meet at the waiting bench of a disused bus stop in Thomas Letocha's play "Enough Waiting". Robert doesn't seem to like this at all - he just wants to be here alone. But all his attempts to persuade the young woman to leave fail because of her cheerful and unconcerned demeanor. On the other hand, Lucy begins to ask Robert personal questions that confuse him. What does the young woman want from him? And conversely, why does he want to be here alone? Gradually, a game of confusion develops between the two, with moments of rapprochement and then confrontation. A kind of game of hide-and-seek between the two until Robert reveals his secret before Lucy finally surprises him with an unexpected revelation.
Thomas Letocha has written a play that is as exciting as it is subtle, in which some things are not as they seem and in which the two protagonists perform an emotional dance between comic and touching moments. Linguistic and situational humor provoke laughter and then, in the next moment, give way to pause for genuine human feelings and ambivalence. The more the two get to know each other, the more the question arises: will everyone end up following their old paths or will they set off together into something that could be called the future? An entertaining invitation to say "yes" to life, subtly staged by Sarah C. Baumann with a great sense of humor and depth and with clever direction from her actors Elena Hahn and Frank Geisler.
