Enjoy a balmy summer evening with a well-chilled drink. Experience music, literature, theater, and more live. These are the elements that have made the traditional “Hanauer Kultoursommer” a success story. This year, the event is kicking off once again with an attractive and varied program:

Cologne’s “Lou’s THE COOL CATS” are bringing a breath of fresh air to the jazz, swing, pop, and rock ’n’ roll scene. Lou Goldstein, Novi Jane Fox, and Peggy Sugarhill—three stage pros since childhood—rock every stage by blending vintage sounds of the 1920s with current chart hits and a sassy swing twist.
Their trademark? Harmony vocals, extravagant outfits, and a healthy dose of humor. The band’s repertoire includes not only their own arrangements of classics like “Puttin’ on the Ritz” and “Mr. Sandman,” but also contemporary hits such as “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart,” “Dance Monkey,” and “Aeroplane” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all given a fresh retro-pop makeover. You can experience Rihanna in rockabilly style or the Andrews Sisters in a modern rap arrangement. Authentic, rousing, and humorous.

Performances take place rain or shine; shows are canceled only in the event of a storm or severe weather warning; please bring rain capes instead of umbrellas.
