The Bad Homburg Poetry & Literature Festival is entering its 17th round and will be a festival of words and sounds! Numerous celebrities from film, TV and theater have confirmed their attendance and will transform the spa town into a literary festival.

Today we're going to the opera! "The Lady of the Camellias" by Alexandre Dumas is set in 19th century Paris with lavish parties and champagne: the young courtesan Marguerite Gautier falls in love with the noble bourgeois Armand Duval, for whom she gives up her free-spirited life - and yet loses everything in the end. A moving love story that has become a mega bestseller since its publication in 1848 and was immortalized by Guiseppe Verdi with his equally successful opera "La Traviata".

Bettina Zimmermann, multi-talented actress, series star and lively voice actress, slips into the role of the beautiful Gautier, while her Swiss actor colleague Pasquale Aleardi, the ever-popular Breton ARD Commissioner Dupin, takes on the role of the narrator. Backdrop images and the most famous arias from "La Traviata", performed live on stage by two extraordinary young stars of the opera scene (Nika Goric, soprano and Matteo Roma, tenor) complete the impression: reading and opera come together congenially here!
