For the 2nd Jazz Connects Festival 2026, Die Fabrik, Jona Heckmann and his Urban Arts Orchestra have developed new arrangements for 3 wonderful local artists, which will be performed for the first time on April 30th, the International Day of Jazz.

Laureen Mobo graduated in 2025 with a degree in jazz and pop singing from the Mainz University of Music, where she studied with Alexander Gelhausen, Nanny Byl, Alex Pugh and privately with Barbara Ganter and was accepted as a scholarship holder at the renowned German National Academic Foundation 1 year earlier. The versatile singer moves confidently between jazz, soul, pop, bossa nova and gospel. As the lead singer and founding member of the band Mobilé, she combines these influences with rousing grooves, poetic depth and an urban sound to create a band sound.

Julie Kuhl (born 2005 in Châtillon-sur-Seine, France) is a singer-songwriter from Frankfurt am Main whose musical career has been gathering pace in recent years - both in Germany and internationally. Her trip to the USA for several weeks in 2025 became a key creative moment for her, both artistically and personally. Many of the songs she wrote there will be included in her upcoming album.

Daniel Orta is reshuffling the cards of the German music scene with his German-language version of NUJazz and neo-soul. No kitsch and no compromises, instead unadorned, restlessly driving music with socially critical lyrics and a love of musical detail.
