Alte Oper Frankfurt

Introducing the next generation of orchestras. Under the motto "Podium Future", the Alte Oper is giving international youth orchestras space at a festival for the first time. Young orchestras from three continents have been invited to perform from Saturday to Monday.

The Brazilian orchestra of excellence Neojiba, founded in 2007, has established itself internationally within large state programs that introduce young people in South America to music and culture. With over 300 concerts under its belt, it is now making a guest appearance at the Alte Oper and opening the Youth Orchestra Festival. Around 100 musicians aged between 13 and 27 will kick off the festival with Gershwin's "Cuban Overture" and their own energy. This is followed by the Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest under Reinier Baas with a varied program ranging from avant-garde to groove, which has a surprisingly cohesive effect.

Parallel to the concert of the Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest, an additional program with short concerts and musical surprises will take place in the salons and foyers.
