Their latest album "Places & Stories" has been hailed by critics as a "powerful and sensational debut". Founded in Frankfurt am Main in 2015, the "Ivan Habernal Quartet" offers contemporary jazz original compositions by bandleader and bassist Ivan Habernal, who studied music in Prague and took private lessons in New York City before arriving on the Frankfurt scene. The band is made up of "all-stars" from the Rhine-Main jazz scene and seeks to express spontaneity and musical freedom against a backdrop of tight grooves, colorful harmonies and rich melodic lines.
