In his graphic novel "Die Knef", Moritz Stetter paints a multifaceted portrait of Hildegard Knef, who became immortal with "Für mich soll's rote Rosen regnen". The singer, actress and writer was one of the most dazzling personalities of the 20th century. From Berlin to Hollywood, she was at the center of show business and constantly reinvented herself. From growing up under National Socialism to becoming a young UFA film star, scandals in post-war Germany to her success on Broadway and as a chanson singer - her life was a constant up and down between fame and personal suffering.
