Chant du soir is a concert full of distinctive works by the extraordinary composer Lili Boulanger (1893-1918), who at the age of 19 was the first woman ever to win the prestigious "Rome Prize" and died far too young a few years later. Lili Boulanger was an unparalleled child prodigy. She began her training at the Paris Conservatory at the age of five, learning piano, violin, cello, harp and organ. Her life was characterized by two themes: her extraordinary talent and her early lung disease. When she won the "Rome Prize", she also received a scholarship for a three-year study visit to the Villa Medici in Rome. Her doctors tried to dissuade her from the trip. But there was no doubt in her mind: she had to have this experience. In the end, she left behind over 50 works, including chamber music, anthems, choral works and a cantata.
