"Few voices touch you from the very first note. Baksi Karatag's voice combines delicate intimacy - as if addressing each individual - with great expressiveness. Traditional Turkish songs are thus given a new, contemporary depth, while modern songs are interpreted with fine sensitivity. The joy of experimentation in arrangements and electronic sounds always remains organic and coherent. Educated in Istanbul at the renowned Müjdat Gezen Institute and the State Conservatory, Baksi Karatag now lives in Germany. In 2021, she was awarded the "Altin Kelebek", Turkey's most important music prize, for her acclaimed albums "Mozaik" and "Usluca" on the "KALAN" label, among others."
