Antoine Lopez has everything - a beautiful girlfriend, professional success and, above all, a lot of money. One day, he receives a message from his childhood sweetheart Maryse asking for a divorce. The two had celebrated a spontaneous wedding 25 years earlier, and Antoine was unaware that this marriage was still legally valid. Now he fears losing half of his fortune and stages a tricky spectacle to convince her of his supposed destitution. His cleaner is supposed to clear out her apartment in a council house so that he can move in temporarily. The deception seems perfect, but Antoine has done the math without Maryse's penetrating helper syndrome. As an incorrigible optimist, she wants to do everything she can to help her old friend escape precarity. And even the shrewd cleaning lady doesn't let herself be pushed around so easily and turns the balance of power in her favor.
