Singer, composer and pianist Lucia Fumero is one of the up-and-coming and creative young artists currently emerging from Barcelona's music scene. Lucia's music moves effortlessly from Spanish folklore to jazz and electronic sounds. The joint concert with the hr-Bigband will be conducted by Rainer Tempel, who has rearranged the music of this exceptional artist for this occasion.

Lucia Fumero has worked intensively with trombonist Rita Payés, who can also be heard on her debut album "Universo normal". The two met while studying at the conservatory in Barcelona and it was friendship at first sight. She released her second album together with her father, bassist Horacio Fumero. They only needed about a day for the exclusively acoustic recordings, the pieces are captivating in their simplicity and deeply emotional. Lucia Fumero doesn't need wild, virtuoso solos to show off her skills. Every single note carries meaning when she produces it. On her double album "Folklore", she explores her musical roots in traditional music from Catalonia, Argentina and Switzerland, from whose melodies she combines new pieces with jazz influences.
