Internationales Theater Frankfurt

The group Abdal is dedicated to traditional folk music and embarks on a musical journey to develop its very own sound. What makes Abdal so special are their interpretations and the way they use their instruments. They skillfully complement the sounds of guitar and Çarango with the Komali scale. They are enriched by santur, accordion, double bass, classical kemençe, violin, clarinet, baglama and percussion. Abdal began their rise on social media. Abdal does not try to integrate Turkish folk songs into the Western musical structure, but uses the musical values of the West to give these folk songs a new foundation.
