Open-air yet covered—at this year’s Concert Summer at the Hanau Amphitheater, many stars will once again be putting on lively concerts:

Fifty live shows—that calls for a celebration! For the 50th live show, Heike Borufka and Basti Red are coming to the Hanau Amphitheater with their courtroom podcast. How does our legal system work? Why is it necessary for clear legal provisions to counterbalance what feels like justice in the courtroom? Hessischer Rundfunk court reporter Heike Borufka and Frankfurt-based podcaster Basti Red will discuss this. The creators of the courtroom podcast *Verurteilt!* will tell us everything we’ve always wanted to know about the German legal system—and a few things we haven’t been interested in yet! All this thanks to real cases, real verdicts, real life, and plenty of exciting insights from and about the German justice system.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., the biggest “Verurteilt!” community meetup to date will take place, where you can meet other fans and kick off the evening by discussing your favorite episodes together.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., the focus will shift to one of the most spectacular cases in German judicial history: the “Cannibal of Rotenburg.” A real-life case. A real verdict. Together with the presiding judge at the time, Klaus Drescher, and Prof. Dr. Frank Füglein—who is now Armin Meiwes’s defense attorney—Heike Borufka and Basti Red will discuss this extraordinary trial and the questions that remain to this day.
