Enjoy a balmy summer evening with a well-chilled drink. Experience music, literature, theater, and more live. These are the elements that have made the traditional “Hanauer Kultoursommer” a success story. This year, the festival kicks off once again with an attractive and varied program:

The VKB band VICKY KRISTINA BARCELONA from New York brings together three extraordinary female songwriters: the genre-bending Rachelle Garniez, the globetrotting adventurer Amanda Homi, and the rootsy, bluesy Kirsten Thien, whose collaboration captivates with its originality, humor, and warmth. Their performances celebrate the sensitive and surprising world of Tom Waits, reinterpreted through luminous three-part harmonies and fresh takes that are both timeless and new. Far from being a tribute band, VKB’s original arrangements spring from the creative spirit and camaraderie that form the core of their project. Drawing from a playful treasure chest of instruments—harmonium, accordion, banjo, washboard, guitars, bottles, and bells—their sound dances between mischief and tenderness

They play in any weather; shows are canceled only in the event of a storm or severe weather warning; please bring rain capes instead of umbrellas.
