Enjoy a balmy summer evening with a well-chilled drink. Experience music, literature, theater, and more live. These are the elements that have made the traditional “Hanau Kultoursommer” a success story. This year, the festival kicks off once again with an attractive and varied program:

The Hanau Poetry Slams are legendary; the KUZ Hanau has brought these very special performances to stages throughout the city well over 100 times. Whether to make you laugh, reflect, or empathize: beyond being a roller-coaster ride of emotions, poetry slams are meant to invite you to do one thing above all else—clap! Because only those who receive the loudest applause advance to the finals and can win the competition—even though winning isn’t the main focus; rather, it’s the poets’ diverse texts. As usual, these will be handpicked and introduced on stage by host Clemens Naumann.
Of course, there will be a very special feature again in 2026 to help participants get started, so that no one has to be the first to perform—instead, the audience will already be well “warmed up” by the applause.

The event will take place rain or shine; it will only be canceled in the event of a storm or severe weather warning; please bring rain capes instead of umbrellas.
