Palmengarten

Since time immemorial, the number 10 has helped us bring order to many aspects of daily life, and early in human history it came to symbolize transformation, completion, and perfection. Rebecca Trescher also had a certain perfection in mind when she founded her tentet in 2019. She deliberately focused on achieving the ideal sound mix in her instrumentation and asked herself which combinations would be best suited for playing with textures. She staffed her small big band with saxophones, clarinets, trumpet, concert harp, vibraphone, piano, cello, bass, and drums.

Her band brought to life the impressions that Rebecca Trescher translated into music as an artist-in-residence following a stay of several months at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Her “Paris Cycle / The Spirit of the Streets” was honored as “Composition of the Year” at the German Jazz Award in 2022.
