Magistrat der Stadt Eppstein

The Eppstein Castle Festival has been taking place since 1913, making it one of the oldest open-air theater venues in the Rhine-Main region. This season's program includes the comedy "Hotel Mimosa" in three acts by Pierre Chesnot:

The imaginative film director Francois, known for his schmaltzy series, is on a "search for motifs" for his new major film. A repeatedly wonderful occasion to stop off at his lover Magali's villa on the Cote d'Azur. Meanwhile, his wealthy wife Cécile believes her husband is staying at the Hotel Mimosa as usual. She prefers to enjoy her life of luxury at home in Paris. Unfortunately, Francois has forgotten his wallet and money. Cécile decides to bring her husband the important documents herself. Necessity is the mother of invention and so the two lovers convert the villa into a hotel. Of course, this means that other hotel guests also turn up at the door and highly amusing entanglements ensue, culminating in the sudden appearance of Magali's husband - a highly paid submarine commander. The wealth of ideas with which Francois tries to save his skin is ludicrous and strains the audience's laugh muscles in the best possible way.

The play is performed in almost all weathers and cancellations are only decided on site.
