Frederik Köster: Dark Matter - modern jazz at the Romanfabrik - 2for1-tickets
Frederik Köster played with his band "Die Verwandlung" for over 10 years and released several award-winning albums (including Jazz Echo, New German Jazz Prize, WDR Jazz Prize). With his new quartet "Dark Matter", he has been presenting fresh, specially composed music since 2024. The trumpeter is regarded as one of Germany's outstanding jazz musicians, whose playing spans the entire modern tradition between Freddie Hubbard and Kenny Wheeler.
He is joined by Jannis Sicker, Calvin Lennig and Thomas Sauerborn, who contribute new, experimental sound ideas. Köster's music repeatedly combines alternative rock elements, spherical soundscapes and influences from European classical music.
