Brüder Grimm Festspiele Hanau

As the birthplace of the world-famous Brothers Grimm, Hanau is dedicating the Brothers Grimm Festival to its most famous sons and their works for the 42nd time.

A queen, more beautiful than all the others, has only one wish: to be the fairest in all the land. But when Snow White, her stepdaughter, is to be presented at court on her 18th birthday, she sees her beauty and power threatened. Snow White has to disappear from the scene - not least because she has accidentally discovered the queen's dark secret. On her escape, Snow White famously encounters the dwarves. The princess, who was initially only concerned with superficiality, waits desperately to be rescued. But with the help of the dwarves, she finally learns that it is inner values, courage and heart that count - not outward splendor.

The family theater with music shows one of the most famous fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm in an imaginative and modern interpretation by Jan Radermacher and Timo Riegelsberger. The play addresses the dangers of superficiality and social standards of beauty in a humorous and thought-provoking way and shows that true beauty always comes from within.
