Die Dämonie der Liebe - Theater play at the Kulturhaus Frankfurt - 2for1-Tickets
In the fall of 1924, the beautiful young student Hannah Arendt attends a lecture by the celebrated rebel philosopher Martin Heidegger. What Heidegger described as "the sudden flash" occurred, the look with which lovers recognize each other. "The demonic has struck me", he writes to Hannah Arendt, "nothing like this has ever happened to me before". Hannah Arendt, "the girl from abroad", succumbs to the "dark fascination" of Heidegger, the "Magician of Messkirch". Political circumstances force the lovers in opposing directions. Heidegger allies himself with National Socialism and becomes Rector of the University of Freiburg. Hannah Arendt, pushed to the margins of society as a Jew, is lucky enough to leave Germany.
After their reunion in Freiburg in 1950 - Hannah Arendt now a world-famous, award-winning publicist; Heidegger, ostracized and despised as a Nazi, banned from teaching - the relationship resumes.
A love story about betrayal and the passion of thought.
A love that lasts a lifetime despite everything and cannot be shaken by anything.
Awarded the "Heidelberger Studentenkuss" at the Heidelberger Theatertage 2015.
