As the birthplace of the world-famous Brothers Grimm, Hanau is dedicating the Brothers Grimm Festival to its most famous sons and their works for the 42nd time.

Björn Schneider is the popular mayor of Grimweiler - until the deceitful innkeeper Alfons Knickel decides to run against him in the upcoming election. With the help of a mysterious sorceress who has anything but good intentions, the mayor's family finds itself in grave danger. In the form of a goat, the sorceress makes a fool of the family and the three children have to venture out into the world. Can a magical table, a golden donkey and a club in a sack turn the town's fortunes around?

In the musical version with live band by Wolfgang Adenberg (book) and Marian Lux (composition), directed by Tristan Braun, young and old alike experience how easily people are seduced by false promises - and how honesty, solidarity and love triumph in the end.
