Burning for something or burning up on something, floating on the wings of freedom or hanging unsteadily in the air? There are two sides to everything, including the associations with "fire" and "bird". With their joint program "Firebird", this year's MuseumSoloist, percussionist Alexej Gerassimez, and jazz pianist Omer Klein move in this field of tension. The inspiration and source material for their own compositions is one of the most complex works in music history: Stravinsky's "Firebird" once again spreads its dazzling wings and, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, plunges into a sonic adventure full of lightness and passion, straight into chaos and back again.
