Alte Oper Frankfurt

Finland surprises with its tango and coffee culture - and with one of the best baroque orchestras in the world. In 1989, young professional musicians in Helsinki founded an ensemble for historically informed performance practice, which was initially known as the "Sixth Floor Orchestra". The group gained international recognition with guest performances in Scandinavia, Canada and China. For the concert in Frankfurt, they will be performing works by Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann, including the orchestral suite "Hamburger Ebb' und Fluth" from 1732, a tribute to water and tides.
