The Dramatische Bühne is an independent theater in Frankfurt am Main with a permanent ensemble. Its artistic work focuses on adaptations of classical material such as "Hamlet", "Cyrano de Bergerac", "Romeo and Juliet" etc., each of which is presented in a special way with plenty of comedy, tempo, music, singing and artistry. The vision of the theater is a revival of the ludicrous, foolhardy theatrical dream that has hardly been dreamed of since Shakespeare's time: Stories full of silliness and profundity at the same time, rich in costume, scenery and (lazy) theatrical magic, the splendor and wretchedness of comedy and sleaze theater, entirely based on text and actors and not on time-bound arbitrary interpretation, lovably old-fashioned, hackneyed and glorious at the same time. The audience is just as mixed as the plays: Punks and bankers, teenagers alongside pensioners, who simply join in the excitement and dreaming even without an explanatory volume in their pockets.
