Leonardo Fibonacci - this is the name of a famous mathematician who worked in Pisa around the year 1200 and was the first to introduce the achievements of Arabic arithmetic to European culture. The "Fibonacci sequence" named after him is a series of numbers that, similar to the golden ratio, describes proportions that apply equally to organic growth and harmonious proportions. The visual symbol of the Fibonacci sequence is the shape of the snail, which is omnipresent in nature - but has also been used in music for centuries, in the shape of the headjoint of the violin, viola and cello!

The name of the Fibonacci Quartet is therefore a double program: harmony and organic growth in the string ensemble. Soon after its foundation at London's Guildhall School, the quartet won important prizes, most recently in 2024 at the highly prestigious Borciani Competition in Reggio nell'Emilia, where we were able to engage them "straight from the stage" for a first chamber concert.
