It begins with a bet between God and the devil - just a game. The stake is the soul. What are we betting our souls on today? Greed, consumption, intoxication, power, eternal youth, clicks on Instagram and TikTok? Faust is in a crisis, depressed and bored with life, so he promises Mephisto his soul if the latter succeeds in freeing him from his dissatisfaction and bringing new momentum into his life. "Top, the bet is on". Mephisto seizes the opportunity and seals the pact with blood. As agreed with God, he tries to dissuade Faust from the right path. He hurries with him from event to event, from Auerbach's cellar to the witches' kitchen, where he has him transformed back into a young man. In the mirror, he shows him the image of a young woman with whom Faust immediately falls in love. With Marthen's help, Mephisto arranges their acquaintance and Faust lavishes her with gifts, jewelry and clothes. Gretchen allows herself to be seduced and is dazzled by Faust's habitus and appearance. He has no scruples. In order to spend a night with her, Mephisto gets Faust a sleeping draught for his mother. She dies as a result and Gretchen becomes pregnant - disaster takes its course...
