Director Mike Flanagan has created an extraordinary and deeply moving (!) adaptation of Stephen King's short story of the same name - a gripping, life-affirming drama that has since been loved and celebrated by audiences and critics alike. And rightly so, because this movie is simply such a rare, courageous, cross-genre, always danceable, hopeful work of art: It playfully combines the mystery of the original with the universal questions of life and finds magic, tenderness, spontaneity and warmth in this enchanting melancholy of our existence. And yes, there are moments that will surely write movie history. Or rather: dance! It will be magical. And sad, funny, touching - delicious!
