Alte Oper Frankfurt

A new festival for open, urban people and Frankfurt's international communities: for two evenings, musical and cultural worlds come together at the Alte Oper. The Urban Vibe Festival takes you on a journey through metropolises such as Istanbul, Seville, New York, Tokyo and Copenhagen. Ten short concerts in different halls each evening can be individually combined. For example, the city of Istanbul - a melting pot of cultures - is given a musical monument with rousing percussion. Flamenco from Seville is given a jazzy twist. The differently timed, overlapping pulses of New York will become tangible with minimal music by Steve Reich.

Parallel to this, there will be talks curated by the Hertie Foundation and a light and sound installation. Late in the evening, Francesco Tristano will be DJing danceable beats in the foyer.
