A marriage in ten sessions. Louise, a busy doctor, has cheated and Tom, an unemployed musician, has moved out. But they don't want to give up on their marriage without a fight. So they go to marriage counseling every week and meet in the pub opposite before the session. He orders beer, she orders wine. They discuss progress and setbacks, question everyday things and speculate about the other guests. Things that have been swept under the carpet for years are dredged up again and fought out in a quick exchange with a penchant for good punchlines. Every meeting seems like a new beginning and what happens next remains open.
