Ensemble ParaXenon - Balkan Storytelling in the St. Boniface Church - 2for1-Tickets
"Džemila and Jehuda Bel Air" is a musical narrative by the international ensemble ParaXenon. It tells the love story of two musicians who meet in Sarajevo in 1941. Exactly at the moment when the Second World War reaches the Balkans. The play deals with the themes of flight, persecution and war and at the same time tells of the power of music and love. Set in the middle of the 20th century, it nevertheless raises questions that could hardly be more topical.
Based on a text by Frankfurt author Leon Joskowitz, the ParaXenon ensemble combines live music and dramatic storytelling in "Džemila and Jehuda Bel Air" to create an emotional stage play. Original compositions by Konstantinos Margaris are interwoven with new arrangements of traditional songs
