Spooky Men's Chorale, founded in 2001 by the great choirmaster, arranger and "Spookmaster" Stephen Taberner, is a singing band of men from Australia and the UK who overcome the brain-heart barrier with mature a cappella harmonies and beguiling sounds, but who also skillfully captivate the audience within seconds with foolish profundity, grotesque humor and idiosyncratic performance. In Europe, the group has appeared at major festivals such as Tonder (Denmark), WOMAD, Cropredy, Cambridge, Broadstairs, Wickham, Camp Bestival, Towersey, Shrewsbury, Sidmouth and Edinburgh Fringe and presented their performances at the Union Chapel (London), St David's Hall (Cardiff), The Philharmonic (Liverpool), Colston Hall (Bristol), the Sheldonian (Oxford) and Alexandersteatern (Helsingfors). A cappella madness. Two years ago, the Spooky Men made over 400 people cheer in the sold-out Bonifatiuskirche in Sachsenhausen. Now they are returning to Frankfurt on their Europe Tour 2025, where they have expressly requested the acoustics and spatial experience of the St. Bonifatius Church, built in 1927 in brick expressionist style and illuminated with unique lighting, as their stage space.
