The Purling Brooks Band is a mixture of young and young-at-heart musicians who know how to inspire an equally enthusiastic audience. The band's name was inspired by the rehearsal location of Weilbach.
The music of this band is like the water of a bubbling brook. Sometimes fast, sometimes calm and slow, sometimes cool and fresh, or hot and dirty, the songs they play make you want to dance and/or listen. Oldies, rock, rock'n roll, pop, skiffle, folk, new country and country are combined into a repertoire worth listening to and seeing. And everything is handmade, without playbacks, half-playbacks or other technical tricks!
The changing solo voices, the polyphonic vocals, the crisp, pithy guitar sounds and the interesting percussion grooves are simply fun!
