With its cafés and establishments, bars and cabarets, Berlin in the Roaring Twenties exerted an enormous fascination on the whole world. The city was a huge stage on which the birds of paradise, artists, gigolos and dream dancers celebrated their intoxicating lives. Friedrich Hollaender, Ralph Benatzky, Theo Mackeben and many other composers wrote the music, the soundtrack to this time of glitz and glamor.
